Fairness to Pet Owners Act Resurfaces
 

The bipartisan bill (H.R. 4023) expresses an oppinion that the veterinary office may not be the best place to buy pet medications.  It endeavors to "promote competition" by encouraging pet owners to shop around for the best prices for their pets medications. 

 

H.R. 4023 would REQUIRE vets to give clients WRITTEN prescriptions for EVERY medication they prescribe for household pets regardless of weather or not a request was made by the client.  Prescription writting fees and liability waiver requirements would be PROHIBITED.

Rabies in Weld County

 

Beginning in 2007, rabies in skunks began to spread through eastern Colorado and along the Front Range, according to the Weld department of health. Traditionally, bats were the main concern for transmission of rabies in Colorado. Skunk rabies is now considered the main reservoir for rabies in Colorado.

On November 27, 2013, President Obama signed the Drug Quality and Security Act (DQSA), legislation that contains important provisions relating to the oversight of compounding human drugs.
